NEARLY 100,000 visitors are expected to descend on Malvern's Three Counties showground next weekend for the Royal Three Counties Show.

The three day event runs from Friday, June 12 until Sunday, June 14, promising a great day out for all the family.

Ken Nottage, chief executive of the Three Counties Agricultural Society, said:“This year’s show is set to be bigger and better than ever before. We’ve got some wonderful new additions and also a greatly enhanced livestock area and equestrian ring. The society has worked hard to bring the industry’s finest to the Royal Three Counties Show and we’re hoping for another impressive turn out.”

Among the many new attractions this year will be a dressage display to music by Olympic gold medallist Carl Hester in the main arena on Saturday afternoon, a sheep shearing "test match" between teams from England and Wales and a Roman chariot display by the Devil's Horsemen, who have appeared in blockbusters like Game of Thrones and War Horse.

The first ever hound show in the history of the event will also take place on Saturday, featuring hounds that hunt within the boundaries of Herefordshire,

Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, with individual classes for hounds and also beagles. On a more sedate note, the International Orchid Show will be inviting children and younger visitors to pot their own orchids and will be part of 16,000sqft marquee featuring the some of the finest examples of horticulture.

A farming village will feature extensive national breed shows, including traditional and minority categories for cattle, sheep and pigs and will be home to the national show of the British Simmental Cattle Society.

The Three Counties food and drink pavilion will highlight the finest produce from the area and also include a bar selling solely locally produced cider, beers, wines and beverages. The cookery theatre is to host displays by top local chefs, as well as the Royal Three Counties cheese show and a cider show.

Building on the success in 2014, the sports village will be a hive of activity. The Young Farmers tug of war, Action Sports tour, martial arts demonstrations and croquet lessons are just some of the action taking place there. While England Lacrosse, England Golf, West Bromwich Albion Football Club and Worcestershire County Cricket Club will also be in attendance.

In the country living village, visitors will be able to find boutique homeware items, quirky gifts and unique vintage items. A knitting corner and "bitch and stitch" workshop hosted by Worcestershire Women’s Institute will also be in this area of the show.

In complete contrast the military village will invite visitors to tackle a 30m climbing wall and also get up close with army tanks and rockets.
