Worcestershire County Council's Countryside Team and volunteers have been celebrating for another year, after receiving the Green Flag Award once again for three of their parks.

The Green Flag Award is the national standard for parks and open spaces throughout the UK organised by Keep Britain Tidy. The parks were awarded for their work on continuing to provide excellent countryside and recreation facilities as well as providing many unique opportunities to the county.

The winning sites were St. Wulstan's Local Nature Reserve in Upper Welland for a fourth year, Worcester Woods Country Park for an eighth year and Waseley Hills Country Park for the tenth year.

John Campion, Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member for Localism and Communities said: "Just getting a Green Flag Award is a real achievement, so I am absolutely delighted that these three sites have managed to yet again achieve such excellence. This a true credit to our dedicated staff and invaluable band of volunteers."
