PUPILS at Chawson First School in Droitwich were getting two very different experiences recently, exploring the refinement of the Royal Ballet, and a bit of rugged adventure with two nights away from home.

Children from years two, three and four at the school had the opportunity to spend the morning recently with a professional dancer from the Royal Ballet.

Dancers spoke to the children about their recent performances, and gave them some helpful dancing tips, and the youngsters were given the chance to choreograph a dance routine, and work with a pianist to create their own performance piece.

A second group of children from the school spent two nights away from home with Malvern Outdoor Elements, walking in the countryside, and getting the chance to try their skills with a zip wire, as well as quad poling where they climbed tall posts the size of tree trunks, map reading and bush skills.
