A DRUGS bust which saw police use a chainsaw to break through a door in Droitwich, resulted in a man being arrested for intention to supply what is thought to be class A drugs

West Mercia Police issued an update to the warrant, which was issued on an address in Woodmans Rise, Droitwich in August, as well as warrants issued at several other properties in the town.

No other arrests were made in Droitwich, despite warrants executed to search properties in Farmers Court, Worcester Road, Ploughman’s Walk and Farriers Corner, all of which failed to result in the discovery of drugs.

A male suspect was interviewed, following the discovery of cannabis at a second address in Ploughman’s Walk in the town.

In total 12 warrants were issued on properties Wychavon and Warwickshire, using doghandlers, special constables and the South Warwickshire proactive team and patrol.

As part of the same investigation, a male suspect was also arrested following a report that he was acting suspiciously in Celvestune Way, Droitwich. He was found to be carrying a lock knife and what is believed to be class A drugs.

Inspector Janet Heritage, from West Mercia Police, said: “This activity has been conducted following concerns raised about drug related rime. Communities do not want this going on in their area and have been supportive of the action that we have taken.

“We will continue to target those that cause us and members of the community concern and appeal to anyone with any information to contact us either on 101 or through Crimestoppers.”
