DROITWICH residents had a chance to take a closer look at proposed plans for the Raven Hotel after the Civic Society set up a stall at the town’s recent Salt Fest celebrations to showcase all the details.

Visitors to the stall were keen to give their views on the proposals to build housing on the site as well as renovating the original street fronting.

Other projects highlighted by the Civic Society included plans for the high street, Union Lane development, Yew Tree Hill, Copcut and Netherwich Basin.

Chairman of the Droitwich Spa Civic Society George Leech said. “We were delighted that local people stopped at the Civic Society stand at Salt Fest and were prepared to give us their opinions on planning projects. The Civic Society is very keen to get people’s views in order that as a society we can reflect these in our recommendations to planners and developers”

According to the Civic Society, the majority of people were generally supportive of the developments proposed for the Raven Hotel site, seeing it as a positive move for the town centre, but there were concerns raised over whether the parking provision would be adequate for the planned 160 seat restaurant on the site.
