DROITWICH Library is organising a season of events around Remembrance Day to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War, which is set to launch on Wednesday, October 29.

The Droitwich Library Remember season is starting with a free workshop at the library for young people and their families called ‘What did you do in the First World War, Granddad?’.

The workshop will help families with children aged seven and up explore the life of a British Tommy during the First World War by becoming ‘history detectives’, using genuine artefacts, photographs and documents, and discovering the real people behind the names on the war memorial in Droitwich.

The workshop is taking place from 10am to noon on the first floor of the library on Wednesday, October 29.
