DROITWICH Spa High School has established its own lottery scheme to raise money needed to fund school projects. The school is one of a growing number to try out a lottery scheme, and every week it plans to give friends, and relatives of pupils at the school the chance to take part in a £1 draw, offering cash prizes of up to £25,000 to winners.

40 per cent of the money raised through the scheme is going toward projects that don’t come within the budget for the normal running of the school, which is the case of Droitwich High School, means that the student-run School Council will have a chance to fund some of the ideas they’ve had for improving the school environment.

One suggested idea is to install amphitheatre style seating in an under-used outdoor area which can be used for casual seating, or as a performance space.

A spokesman from the school said: “The attraction of this lottery is that it very much a local lottery for local people, where those taking part not only have the chance to win a cash prize, but can see the direct benefit that their ticket purchase has had.

“And, the more people that take part, the bigger that benefit will be, so the school is encouraging all those in the area to get involved to not only have a chance of winning a prize, but also to see student-led projects getting off the ground.”

Anyone wishing to join the school lottery, should contact the school on 01905 774421.
