FOLLOWING a call for help from another scout and guide group in the town, the 1st Droitwich Beaver colony is also asking for volunteers to help out while one of its leaders is on maternity leave.

The beavers are usually fine, but their leader Louise Jackson is about to take maternity leave, and her absence places the group in jeopardy.

Alan Blake, chairman of 1st Droitwich Spa Scout group, said: “Just like 3rd Droitwich, we also need more volunteers to help run our group. In particular our beaver colony needs more help. The colony is keen to attract adult volunteers to help keep the colony thriving while Louise is away.

"The scout group has active beaver, cub and scout sections which could all benefit from more volunteer help. A number of flexible roles are available which would help to provide scouting opportunities for boys and girls in Droitwich.”

Anyone who would like to get involved and help out the group, should contact group chairman Alan Blake on 01905 798552, or beaver leader Louise Jackson on 07807 276651 for more information.
