DROITWICH Town Council has co-opted John Cook to become a new councillor following the death of Roy Seabourne, who passed away in September.
Councillor Cook previously sat on the town council for more than a decade, and held the position of deputy mayor before suffering a heart attack in 2006, which forced him to stand down.
He joins the council representing the West ward on behalf of the Labour party.
He said: “ I don’t see my role to be political. I see it as to help people with local issues.”
Talking about Councillor Seabourne he added: “I worked alongside Roy as a councillor, He‘s a very hard act to follow.”
