CHARITIES and volunteer groups from in and around Droitwich are being invited to submit bids for a number of community grants being made available through Wychavon District Council.

The grants, which this year have a theme of ‘Inclusive Communities’ can be for as much as £10,000 for individual projects, with a pot of £50,000 available for the whole of the Wychavon district.

Tracy Grubb, community development officer at Wychavon, said: “We always have a lot of interest in our grants, so we encourage people to get in quickly with their bids. Bids need to come from charitable and voluntary groups that are based in the Wychavon area and can be for any aspect of community life. We look forward to seeing the ideas people have and what the idea of an inclusive community means to them.”

Bids can be for anything that benefits the community, from community buildings and sports activities, to people from different backgrounds and abilities helping to make a lasting contribution to the local community.
