A SON threw a coat hanger at his mother, smashed a window and damaged a heating thermostat during a family argument, a court was told.

Joshua Greenhouse, of Home Piece, Droitwich, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Monday (April 13) and pleaded guilty to criminal damage to property belonging to his mother Jodie Greenhouse.

The incident took place in Farriers Corner, Droitwich, on Saturday, March 21, and left the victim feeling distressed.

Mark Soper, prosecuting, said: “An argument ensued and he threw a coat hanger at her but it did not hit her.

“He damaged a thermostat which controls the central heating and he remained aggressive and threatened her. He also went around and smashed the front window. It left the family in some distress and now she won’t have him back in the house. He had had an argument with his girlfriend and that is why he lost his temper.”

Gary Harper, defending, invited the court to consider ordering a probation service report on Greenhouse.

Sue Dowty, chairman of the bench, said: “We are going to order a formal report as the next bench who will sentence you will have to have all the facts available.”

Greenhouse was bailed to appear at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday, May 8, on the condition that he does not enter Farriers Corner in Droitwich nor contact Jodie Greenhouse. He must also live and sleep at his home address.
