A BUS shelter has been installed close to Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold to protect passengers using a new bus service to and from the service.

The bus stop, which was funded by Worcestershire County Council and Webbs, was installed at the request of residents and garden centre staff, with support of Councillor Richard Morris.

He said: “I would like to thank the Droitwich Older People's Forum, which first raised the question with me of whether a bus stop could be installed inside the garden centre grounds when I was mayor of Droitwich.”

At the launch of the new shelter, Jeff Edwards of the Bromsgrove Older People’s Forum, said: “Members of Bromsgrove and Droitwich Spa Older People’s Forums are very grateful that, following their request for a shelter at the bus stop at Webbs Garden Centre, they have now provided one. People of all ages will be pleased to use this facility, ensuring they have an enjoyable visit to Webbs even when the weather is poor.”

Webbs chairman, Ed Webb, added: “We were very happy to listen to the Forum’s request to put up the bus shelter which will make visits to Webbs more comfortable for customers, whatever the weather.”
