ART lovers are being invited to an open day for art studios that will be showcasing the work of talented artists.

On the August Bank Holiday, between August 29 and 31, artists, painters, sculptors, printmakers, potters and stained glass artists will be exhibiting their work.

Studios across the county are taking part in the Worcestershire Open Studios event including several near Droitwich.

As well as viewing the work the public can see how it is created and buy originals from the artist.

Among the studios taking part are at Martin Hussingtree where Paul Langford and members of his art class will be exhibiting at The Boffy at David's Nurseries.

Landscape and portrait painter Michael Salt will be opening his studio at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre in Hanbury, along with four potters at The Pottery, based at the same location.

In Inkberrow, landscape artist John Harris will be opening his home studio to visitors.

Cherrie Mansfield, an artist and one of the event organisers, said: "Worcestershire Open Studios is a great opportunity for artists like me to share my artwork with a wide range of people.

"Everyone is welcome to drop in - whether they're seasoned art lovers or have never stepped inside a gallery or been to an exhibition before.”

Chris Bell, one of the potters exhibiting at The Pottery, said: "We are very glad of the opportunity to participate.

"There are four of us sharing the studio, each producing a different style of work, so we hope there is something to suit everyone.

"We look forward to welcoming people to the studio and to demonstrating our work to a wider audience.

"Whilst here at the Jinney Ring, visitors can also explore the other craft workshops and visit the restaurant."
