A TALENTED Droitwich resident is in the running to see her cartoon creation come to life in a national comic.

Paige Rawlings, aged nine, created One-Eyed-Jack as part of Flaming Grill's nationwide Cartoon Villain competition, which asked children to design their own villain to feature in the children's menu comic.

The menu features the Grill Bill comic, who is the hero who goes on different adventures in each new menu.

If selected One-Eyed-Jack could feature in the third series of the comic, available in 146 pubs across the UK later this year, including the Castle Hotel in Worcester Road in Droitwich.

Staff at the pub have got behind Paige’s character and is asking guests to vote for One Eyed Jack.

If Paige is successful she wins a day in a design studio seeing her character come to life, a year's subscription to the comic, and a family meal.

Mark Davenport, general manager at the Castle Hotel, said: "Paige’s villain is pure evil how could he not be the perfect arch enemy to our Grill Bill.

"Paige has shown real creativity and originality with her creation, and we wish her all the best in the competition. I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to get behind Paige in the public vote."

Hayley Rawlings, Paige’s mum, said: "I’m really pleased that Paige was selected as a finalist for the Cartoon Villain competition.

"She had a great time coming up with One-Eyed-Jack’s look, back story and what his special powers would be to take on Grill Bill. I am really proud she has made it this far and look forward to see how the voting pans out."
