PUPILS in Droitwich Spa have been celebrating impressive GCSE results released this morning.

Droitwich Spa High School's headteacher Natalie Waters said she was delighted the efforts of students had been emphatically rewarded as 61 per cent of candidates reached the national benchmark A* to C grades, including English and maths.

Among the top performers are Luke Harrison who gained 10 A*s and one A, Mark Harrison who achieved nine A*s and one A, and Tom Hughes, Charlotte Cartwright and Ed Battin, who all gained seven A*s and four As.

The headteacher added student's efforts had been a great achievement, built upon the combined efforts of the 272 members of the school.

At Dodderhill School in Droitwich, students and staff celebrated as 100 per cent of year 11 pupils secured five or more GCSEs at A* to C, including maths and English.

An impressive 78 per cent of girls achieved A*, A and B grades.

Cate Mawston, Dodderhill School's headteacher, said: "This year’s results are fantastic and we’re delighted with the grades that our girls have achieved.

"They should all be extremely proud of themselves, they have worked so hard and this is such a great accomplishment for them and a sound foundation on which to build their futures.

"At Dodderhill we pride ourselves on creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for all our pupils – whether they’re six or 16-years-old. This is reflected in the consistently outstanding examination results achieved year on year, and is testament to all that we do."
