DROITWICH Spa Hockey Club is celebrating the start of its new season with a brand new state of the art playing surface.
The pitch has been installed thanks to the combined efforts of Wychavon District Council and Wychavon Leisure, which has funded a new sand dress surface for the club, including shock pads and the latest international pitch markings.
The pitch was finished in time for the club to play its first event, Hockey Fest, on September 12.
The council has also funded new goals for both hockey and football to be used on the pitch, and new waste bins around the pitch, and the club is hoping it will be used by Droitwich residents as well as club members. The clubhouse has also been decorated over the summer.
