A popular book sale has raised £30,000 for local charities over the past decade.

The sale - held at St Andrew's Church, Droitwich - on the first Saturday of every month also offers cakes, preserves, DVDs, CDs, jigsaw puzzles and bric-a-brac at St Andrew's Church in the town's centre.

Money raised by the Droitwich Lions at the sale goes to support local charities with the proceeds from children's books going to Acorns Children's Hospice.

So far this year, the monthly sale has raised more than £2,000 for the Lions's charities.

The latest charity raffle, which ran at the book sale and at Salt Fest, raised another £100.

Carole Moseley, of the Droitwich Lions, invited visitors to the charity's latest monthly book sale, held last week,. to draw the winning ticket for the prize of a bottle of Irish Whiskey.

The prize was won by Lilian Eaton.

The raffle tickets were sold at the charity's stall at Salt Fest, during the weekend of Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, and at the monthly book sale.
