THERE was a sight to be seen in Droitwich over the weekend as 150 bellydancers and their families launched into a Bellydance Hafla to raise money for Leukaemia Care.

The Hafla, an event where students, professionals, and members of the public come together in the name of belly dance, took place at the Droitwich Legion Inn on Saturday, October 3, raising nearly £1,000 for the charity.

The event, which was organised by local bellydancing instructor Tracy Griffiths, included men’s and children’s bellydancing competitions, as well as a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses including Vashali, the Chateaux Impney Hotel, and Physique Fitness.

Tracy said: “I would like to thank all who attended, supported and gave so generously.”

Tracy organises bellydance classes at Physique Fitness in Droitwich on Mondays and Fridays. For more information call 07920 085443.
