A BROMSGROVE-based brewery is hoping its beer will scoop a tasty award.
Birds Brewery has been selected as a finalist in the Visit Worcestershire Awards for Excellence, vying for the Best Taste of Worcestershire accolade.
Entries in the taste category were judged against a number of criteria, including overall customer experience, the use of locally sourced ingredients and engagement with the local community. Judges sampled a selection of three different Birds beers and conducted a telephone interview with Chris Bird, managing director, ahead of the winner being announced at St Andrew’s House Hotel in Droitwich, on October 15.
Mark Stephenson, head brewer at Bird’s Brewery, said: “It’s very exciting to have been shortlisted — we are passionate about producing great tasting beers. We brew our beers for the people of Worcestershire so it would be fantastic to win a Worcestershire award.”
