A DROITWICH medical practice has been rated "outstanding" by inspectors.

The Care Quality Commission inspectors found Corbett Medical Practice to be providing a safe, caring and well-led service to meet the needs of the local population.

The Corbett Avenue-based practice was praised in a number of areas including that it had been involved with securing funding and setting up the Droitwich Dementia Centre, participating in a local social prescribing pilot project, which provides additional support for patients with poor mental health, and produces a booklet of opportunity to promote the range of professional development available to GPs working at Corbett Medical Practice, in order to counteract the difficulty in recruiting GPs.

Janet Williamson, deputy chief inspector of general practice and dentistry in CQC’s central region, said: “It is clear Corbett Medical Practice is a real asset to the people living in this part of Worcestershire.

“High standards were promoted and valued by all practice staff. Practice staff worked together in a co-operative way whatever their role within the team.

“A GP partner was a hospital practitioner in paediatrics at Worcester Royal Hospital. This additional expertise was a valuable resource to the practice team.

“All of this hard work pays off in making a real difference to patients – which is why we have found this practice to be outstanding.”
