Music festival gets in full swing

VISITORS to Droitwich Spa town centre will be able to enjoy a whole day of musical performances.
The Pop in the Precinct event will be held on Saturday (June 30) at St Andrews Shopping Centre as part of the annual Droitwich Spa Music and Arts Festival.
A host of talented performers will wow crowds from 11am - 5pm.
Witton Middle School singers will being the event at 11am before singer Anna Clements takes to the stage.
Popular town jazz band Blue Mondays will then perform from noon. Other artists on display include pop due Mickey and Griff, singer Jenny Hallam, swing and pop music performers The Chuck Harriet Trio and blues band Stompin on Spiders.
Singers Ben Vickers, Abby Inez and Dan Greenaway will fill the last three slots to close the show.
A free evening concert will then take place in nearby Victoria Square from 7.30 to 10.30pm.
The Midnight Movers, Droitwich Spa's own unique nine piece soul, R&B and funky pop band, will perform.
Festival organisers have also arranged for two paid concerts for the weeks ahead. The Sacred Heart Church, Worcester Road, will welcome folk singer Deborah Rose, four-piece band King & Folk and Droitwich's own Spa-Tones community choir on July 6. Tickets for the 7.30pm performance costs £8 and £7 for concessions.
A second concert will be held at Dodderhill School and will feature the school’s senior and chamber choirs as well as professional artists Shulah Oliver, a classical violinist, and Andrew Weekes. Tickets will be £10 and £8 for concessions.
