THREE medical practices in Droitwich will be joining forces to host a carers day during the town’s Salt Day celebrations on Saturday, September 15.

The Corbett, The Spa and The Salters Medical Practices Patient Participation Groups are bringing together various professional and charitable organisations for the event.

It will take place on Saturday, September 15, at the Baptist Church Hall in Ombersley Street between 10am-4pm.

The carers day is designed to provide help and advice on all aspects of being a carer for a friend or relative, and make carers aware of the free support and services available to them. These can include additional benefits, home repairs, carer support groups and respite care.

Also in attendance during the day will be Macmillan, The Red Cross Therapeutic Services, the Young Carers’ Support Group, and other health service professionals.

It is hoped carers of any age will drop in, in particular young carers who can often miss out on many opportunities as they are looking after a parent, guardian or sibling.

Entrance to the event is through the Olive Grove Cafe entrance.
