THERE will be spooky goings-on at a Bromsgrove open air museum this Halloween.
This weekend, and on Wednesday, October 31, Avoncroft Museum, in Redditch Road, is holding its annual spooky trick and treat.
A spooky figure will be guiding those brave enough to go on this tour of the old buildings only lit by candles in pumpkins.
Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their spookiest costume and children can bring a bucket to trick or treat the ghostly figures around the museum.
There will be numerous creepy characters to meet along the terrifying tour, including a visit to the haunted telephone kiosk. The miniature ghost train will also be available for rides and the Edwardian Tea Room will be serving hot snacks, refreshments and cakes.
The open-air museum will be very dark and spooky so the evening is not recommended for those aged below four years old. Staff will be available to warn children of a nervous disposition which parts of the terrifying tour to avoid.
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £8 for children. It is essential to pre-book tickets as places are limited.
Bernie Huntingdon, marketing and fund-raising manager, said: “This is a great event, all of the old buildings look really eerie at night and create a perfect creepy atmosphere for Halloween.
“It also provides a safe way for families to go trick or treating without disturbing people in their homes.”
Children can also enjoy pumpkin carving, spooky storytelling and creepy arts and crafts during half term week, October 29-31.
Afterwards children can enjoy some fresh air in the play area and take part in the museum’s terrifying trail around the site.
The workshops are an additional £3 to the entrance fee and places need to be booked in advance.
Admission prices to the museum are adults £7.70, seniors £6.60, and children £4.
A family ticket of two adults and three children costs £19.80.
The museum is free to members.
