Woman injured after stone thrown in Bromsgrove High Street
3:00pm Tuesday 30th October 2012 in Local
A WOMAN has been injured after a stone was thrown from a roof top in Bromsgrove High Street.
The incident took place at 10.10pm on Saturday, October 20.
The victim, a woman in her 20s, was on a night out with friends.
As she walked near the HSBC bank she felt a pain to her head. It was discovered a stone had been thrown from a rooftop.
It caused a cut to the victim's head, which bled considerably. An ambulance was called but she did not need hospital treatment.
The incident is being treated as a malicious wounding.
PC Penny Davies said: "We are appealing for information and also making the public aware that if they see people throwing stones in the town centre, they should contact police immediately.
"Although this lady was only slightly hurt, the paramedics did say that it had taken a considerable blow to break the skin. Luckily she was able to carry on with her evening out, but it could have been very serious indeed."
Anyone with information should call PC Davies on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 677-s-201012, or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
