LICKEY End residents joined with pupils and staff at a Bromsgrove school for a special service of remembrance.

Lickey End First School, in School Lane, held the event remembering the fallen on Friday, (November 9).

Held annually, this year residents were invited into the school to join in and support their remembrance event.

More than 90 people attended, included some war veterans. 

As part of the event year four youngsters dressed in wartime clothes, read poetry, and had their work on the Second World War put on display.

Visitors were also given refreshments, in the form of rations.

The school's headteacher, Ann Hill, said: "'The remembrance event is greatly valued by the school and community.

"Many parents, grandparents and local visitors were extremely impressed by the childrens' sensitivity and emotional response as well as their knowledge of the First and Second World Wars.

"We are very proud of our year four class and the staff team who led this event.'
