BROMSGROVE police have issued a safety warning after a woman was assaulted on a town pathway on her way home from a night out.

The woman, in her 20s, left the Love Clubrooms nightclub at around 2.30am on Sunday morning, (January 13).

She walked from Worcester Road on to a path near Bromsgrove School, leading through open ground to Manor Court Road.

The woman had become separated from a friend and when she stopped to make a mobile phone call, she was approached by two men in dark clothing.

One of them assaulted her briefly, but when she screamed the pair ran off.

One of the men is thought to have been wearing a Superdry jacket.

PC Carita Coldicott said: "The woman was not hurt and no attempt was made to take anything from her but nevertheless she was quite shaken up by what happened.

"We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen these males hanging around in the area or knows who they are."

Police are stressing the need for people to consider their personal safety after a night out. Advice includes not drinking too much, never walking alone, sticking to main roads and avoiding shortcuts and unlit areas.

It is also advised to book a taxi or cab in advance, or call a licensed cab company from the venue and arrange to be picked up outside.

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to call the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference 23-N-130113, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
