BROMSGROVE youngsters took part in a medieval quest during a visit to Warwick Castle.

Year two pupils at Bromsgrove Pre-Preparatory School visited the castle at the end of January, as part of their recent turrets and toaras project.

The children received a ransom note from an evil knight asking for 50 golden groats in return for the safe release of Princess Arabella, who was locked in a tower at Warwick Castle.

The children worked to assure the knight the ransom would be paid, and were greeted by another knight who promised to deliver the ransom on their behalf.

To the children’s delight, when they visited the castle’s Princess Tower, they discovered that Princess Arabella had been freed - just in time for her wedding.

The pupils also had the chance to learn how knights prepared for battle, at a special kingmaker exhibition.

Anna Stead, from the school, said that the day ended on another exciting note for the youngsters when they discovered a golden egg.

The pupils are taking care of the egg, until it hatches at their Hanbury Road-based school.
