A PERSON was taken to hospital after a car collided with a road bridge near Dodford, and a second car ended up in the stream.
The incident happened on the A448 Kidderminster Road at 6.40am today, (February 15).
A car towing a catering unit was in collision with the bridge, while the second vehicle left the road and came to a rest around 10 metres below in the stream.
Fire crews attended, with police and ambulance staff, and the two occupants from the first vehicle and the single occupant of the second car were treated at the scene.
Firefighters used airbags and a winch to help police move the trailer unit and to ensure that the vehicles involved were made safe.
The road, between Bromsgrove and Kidderminster, had been closed as a result of the incident.
Engineers were called to inspect the road bridge, which was structurally damaged in the incident, and assessed if any remedial action would be needed.
Group commander Mick Cadman said: “This had the potential to be a very serious incident and those involved are lucky to have come away with what we understand to be relatively minor injuries.”
He added that the emergency services are doing all they can to ensure that the road is reopened as quickly as possible, to minimise disruption for other road users.

There is also some pretty shocking overtaking that goes on as well.
The bend inbetween the Fox / Garage and Rowberry's nursery has seen many accidents over the year and I'm amazed the road does not tick the boxes for some law enforcement. The 30mph limit is by and large ignored through Chaddesley.

This is the 3rd or 4th accident at this spot in the last couple of months and every time the roads conditions were unacceptably poor, even in relation to the prevailing weather.
There also seem to be drainage issues at this location and nearer Mustow Green where the road currently looks more like a sandpit than a road!
