A BROMSGROVE hotel is hosting a special auction raising money for a Catshill school, which supports youngsters with special needs.

Chadsgrove School and Special Sports College, in Meadow Road, caters for children with physical and complex medical needs, and associated disabilities.

The school has begun a fund-raising campaign aiming to raise £145,000 to refurbish its upper school bathroom.

The work is needed as the hoisting system currently used is in desperate need of replacement, and the surrounding area urgently needs renovation.

As the hoists are breaking down daily, this is causing disruption to children and staff.

Another issue is that the bathroom caters for both genders but currently is only separated by curtains.

To raise money for the campaign a charity auction is being held at the Holiday Inn, in Kidderminster Road, on Monday, March 11.

Organisers have already secured a number of items which will go under the hammer at the event. Among the items are tickets to see Worcestershire County Cricket Club, a tour of Villa park, guitars, a garden bench from Webbs, a selection of filled hampers and a children’s party at Blackwell Adventure.

Organisers still need more items to auction off and are appealing to anyone who has something exciting to offer. Anyone with an item is asked to call the school on 01527 871511.

Entry to the auction is £1, which includes a programme. People are asked to attend from 6pm when there will be a viewing of items, ahead of the start of the auction at 7.30pm.
