AN event designed to prepare Bromsgrove youngsters for life after their school years have finished, has proved a success.

Rigby Hall School, in Rigby Lane, hosted the evening on March 6 where parents and pupils were shown the options and opportunities available, post 16.

More than 20 organisations were involved in the event at the Aston Fields school, showcasing what they had to offer. Among those in attendance were representatives from children’s and adult services, and colleges.

The event was held in partnership with another special needs school, Chadsgrove School in Catshill.

Sarah Youngs, Rigby Hall’s deputy headteacher, said: “For the first time parents of younger pupils were invited and they left feeling very assured that there were so many opportunities available to their youngsters at post 16.’
