Man found dead in burning car in Marlbrook

FIREFIGHTERS discovered a man’s body when they tackled a car fire last night (March 11).

Crews from Bromsgrove and Redditch were called to the incident in an area off Birmingham Road, Marlbrook, at 11.10pm.

Using breathing apparatus and a hose reel firefighters extinguished the blaze, then helped gain access into the vehicle.

A man was found inside, and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police, who were also called, informed his next of kin and say that although they are treating the death as unexplained, they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said its crews have been working with police to investigate the incident.

The Worcestershire Coroner has also been notified and a full report is set to be sent to him.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, should call officers at Bromsgrove Police Station using non-emergency number 101, and quoting reference number 577-S-110313.
