CLIENTS at a Bromsgrove veterinary surgery have been competing to see whose pet is the town’s next top model and raise money for charity.

Clients at Townsend Veterinary Practice were invited to pay £1 and enter their pets into the competition, with all money raised going towards the surgery’s efforts to raise £2,500 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

The winner was chosen as Eddie, a four-month-old cocker spaniel poodle crossbreed, and his owner received gift vouchers for Littleheath Garden Centre, which has been supporting the practice in its fundraising efforts.

Emma Whetlor has been coordinating the fundraising events. She said: “Littleheath have been really good in donating their time and prizes for all our events, a big thank you.”

The next fundraising challenge for the practice will see six members of the veterinary team, taking on the Coniston Team Challenge on Saturday, September 7, when they’ll head up to the Lake District to complete a 12km bike ride, 10km hike to the top of the Coniston Old Man, and a one mile kayak on Coniston Water.

Liz Fraser from Littleheath Garden Centre, added: “I take my hat off to the team, this challenge is a tough one and we are more than happy to support in any way we can.”
