Bromsgrove residents encouraged to take part in charity walk
4:40pm Friday 16th August 2013 in Local
TOWNSFOLK are invited to register for a charity walk being held in Bromsgrove next month.
The Stroke Association has organised the Step out for Stroke walk, which will be taking place at Sanders Park on Sunday, September 15.
The family fund-raiser is open to everyone, regardless of age or ability. Many stroke survivors, and their families, will be taking part on the day.
The walk is along a route at the Kidderminster Road park, but lasts for as long as participants can manage.
The event is family friendly and will include a samba drumming band, cake sale, face painting and live music.
Claire Benfield, regional fund-raiser for the Church Lane-based charity, said: “We believe everyone affected by stroke should get the support they need to make the best possible recovery.
“We’re inviting the whole community to come to this fun day out and help us make it an event to remember.
“It is a milestone for many stroke survivors taking part, and is an occasion the whole family will enjoy.”
