Choir rocks the Morton Stanley Festival
5:00pm Tuesday 20th August 2013 in Local
BROMSGROVE and Redditch Rock Choir groups joined forces with Stourbridge and Kidderminster groups to perform at the Morton Stanley Festival in Redditch at the weekend.
Rock Choir has been running in Bromsgrove and Redditch since September 2012 and has already performed at many local events as well as their biggest national event yet in June when they came together with thousands of other Rock Choir members at their very own Rock Choir Live concert at Liverpool Echo Arena. Coming up in October, they will be singing on the pitch at Wembley Stadium in front of 90,000 people and they have a summer concert planned for next year at Birmingham's Symphony Hall.
Rock Choir is the UK's original and largest amateur contemporary choir, with 17,000 members in over 200 locations nationwide. It was set up in 2005 by musician/singer Caroline Redman Lusher, who wanted to reignite people's joy of singing and give them a fun, life-enhancing experience, and it seems that its members just can’t get enough of it. Rock Choir is the contemporary choir for people who just love to sing.
Bromsgrove Rock Choir rehearses at All Saints Church Hall during term time on Tuesdays from 8-9.30pm. Redditch Rock Choir rehearses at Studley Sports Centre on Abbeyfields Drive on Wednesdays from 8-9.30pm.
There are no auditions and no previous musical experience is necessary. For more information, see www.rockchoir.com or call 01252 714276.
