TRANSPORT police have launched an investigation following an alleged incident of youths trespassing on a railway line in Bromsgrove.
Images of the dramatic incident have been posted on social network sites including the Bromsgrove Advertiser’s Facebook page.
It is understood the incident took place on a section of the track in Stoke Prior shortly before 2.30pm on Thursday, (August 22).
The photographs were posted to the Advertiser’s page by Rich Wilson, who commented that the children came within seconds of being hit by the passenger train.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “BTP is aware of images posted on a social networking site that appear to show a number of youths trespassing on the railway line near Shaw Lane, Stoke Prior.
“Enquiries are on-going to establish the full details of the incident.
“Officers would like to thank members of the public who have already come forward with information.
“However, officers would also urge anyone who witnesses an incident on the rail network to call BTP immediately on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, so that officers can begin to investigate any alleged offences straight away.”
Anyone with information regarding the Stoke Prior alleged incident is asked to call or text the same numbers, quoting incident reference 680 of 23/08/13.
