Third man arrested over Hopwood cash in transit robbery

A THIRD man has now appeared in court charged in relation to last month’s cash in transit robbery at Hopwood Services, off the M42 in North Worcestershire.
Adam Lee Ali, aged 34, of Cotman Close, Birmingham, was arrested by West Mercia Police last Thursday and charged the following day with robbing the driver of a cash in transit lorry of £465,000 and kidnapping him.
The incident happened at the service station on August 15.
Ali was brought before Worcester magistrates on Saturday when he was remanded in custody until November 25, when he will appear at Worcester Crown Court.
Two other Birmingham men have already appeared in court charged with the same offences.
Leon Bell, aged 37, of Greenvale Avenue, Sheldon, and John Gerard Wall, aged 49, of Bromford Court, Bromford Lane, Washwood Heath, were also remanded in custody to appear before Worcester Crown Court on November 25.
