THE multi-million pound project to build a new Bromsgrove Railway Station has been given the green light by Worcestershire County Council's planning committee.
The proposal to build the new station 200 yards south of the existing Aston Fields one received unanimous approval from planners at a County Hall meeting held today, (September 24).
Work on the station is currently expected to be completed in May 2015, with the separate electrification scheme - bringing all four new platforms into use - expected by May 2016.
The county council's planning and regulatory committee chairman, Councillor Rob Adams, said the proposal was exciting for the town, bringing economic benefits not only for Bromsgrove but for the whole of Worcestershire.
