A NUMBER of Bromsgrove schools have either been closed or are partially closed as teachers are striking in a row over pay, pensions and workloads.
It involves members of the NUT and NASUWT - the two biggest teaching unions.
Among the town schools closed to youngsters are Alvechurch CE Middle, Aston Fields Middle, Catshill Middle, Lickey End First, Lickey Hills Primary, St John’s CE Middle and Waseley Hills High.
Partially closed schools, where only some classes will be closed, include Chadsgrove School and Specialist Sports College, Charford First, Fairfield First, Finstall First, Rigby Hall and Stoke Prior First.
North Bromsgrove High and South Bromsgrove High schools are closed to years nine, 10 and 11, but are open to all sixth form students.
The walkout is affecting schools in 49 authorities in the east of England, the Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber.
The teachers are striking about changes to their pensions, increased workload and about Government plans to bring in performance-related pay, from this autumn.
