WHO says local high streets are dying?
When the opportunity arose to take over a vacant shop in New Road in Rubery, seven local gift and craft specialists jumped at the chance.
The Perfect Gift opened its doors earlier this week as is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm until Christmas Eve.
The new shop features a wide range of products such as jewellery and accessories, handmade soaps and beauty products, hand-forged decorative metal work, prints and homemade preserves, and all locally produced.
A spokesman from the new shop said that the aim was to provide Rubery shoppers with a new shopping experience and help fight against the decline of the high street.
She said: “Feedback on the opening day was very positive from Rubery shoppers and traders alike.
“Everyone is pleased to see something new and commented on the lovely items and reasonable prices.”
