YOUNG people from across the area have been given top scout awards.
More than 40 boys and girls gathered at Bromsgrove's Spadesbourne Suite, Burcot Lane, to be presented with chief scout awards on Thursday, October 3.
The bronze, silver and gold chief scout awards are the top awards in the Beaver Scout, Cub Scout and Scout sections and each one requires the youngsters to have completed a number of challenge badges.
The awards were presented to cub scouts from Barnt Green, Charford, Droitwich, Lickey, Bromsgrove and Finstall by Bromsgrove District Council's civic head, Councillor Helen Jones and Mayor of Droitwich, Councillor Tom Noyes.
Head of Bromsgrove and Droitwich Scouts, Roy Clarke, congratulated all the young people on their awards and also thanked the volunteer leaders for providing the meetings, camps and other activities to enable them to achieve the challenges. He also presented awards to three adult volunteers who had completed their leadership training.
Scouting is continuing to grow across Bromsgrove and Droitwich thanks to new leaders and helpers coming forward. However, the group still has many young people on lists waiting to join and is looking to open Beaver Scout Colonies in Catshill and Finstall.
