A HAIR salon in Bromsgrove has raised just over £6,000 for Cancer Research UK, by taking part in the Relay for Life as well as a host of other activities.
Emma Parkins, owner of Perfections Hair Salon, based at the the Courtyard, Mitre House, asked colleagues, family, friends and clients to join in on the fundraising by entering a team into the 24-hour long Relay for Life at Worcester, and the salon has also organised everything from pampering evenings and car washes, to a cake and book sale, a raffle, and a craft evening.
So far, with six months of concerted effort, their grand fundraising total stands at £6,000.06 and is still rising.
Ms Parkins said: “I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone on my team and everyone who has donated to our massive total. We are overwhelmed by your generosity and humbled by the total amount we have raised. This amount will make a huge difference to research into cancer, which everyone of us has been affected by one way or another."
