A power cut lead to the lights going out at the junction of New Road and the A38 at around 7pm.
Just afterwards two vehicles, a Rover 75 and Ford Focus, were in collision at the junction.
Bromsgrove firefighters were called, making the vehicles safe, while police blocked the road.
West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended and one of the drivers was placed on a spinal board, and taken to Alexandra Hospital as a precaution.
