Townsfolk invited to put best foot forward for gym's charity fund-raiser
A BROMSGROVE gym is encouraging townsfolk to put their best foot forward to raise money for a charity supporting stroke victims.
Altered Images gym is holding a charity fun run event on Saturday, October 26.
The event is taking place from 3pm, and participants have a choice of either walking, jogging or running around a course starting from the Worcester Road-based gym.
It costs £10 to enter the event - but organisers hope people will be sponsored to raise even more.
All money raised is being donated to the Stroke Association, which has its national headquarters in Church Lane.
The Life After Stroke centre cost £2.2 million to build and delivers training to volunteers and care workers, who support survivors finding it difficult to cope with the demands of daily living.
Participants are being encouraged to wear purple - the colour of the charity - for the fund-raiser. Alternatively, t-shirts and vests carrying the charity’s logo are available from the gym’s reception for £2.
Lara Jackson, Altered Images’ team leader, said there wasn’t a fund-raising target because they were just hoping to raise as much money as possible for the charity.
Peter Rumbold, a Stoke Association ambassador and member of the gym, added: “The money Images raises through this event will support the association’s vital work - especially the research it carries out and the help it gives to stroke survivors.”
For more details, or to register an interest in taking part, call the gym on 01527 874395 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
