Bromsgrove literary society launches children's author events
9:40am Tuesday 22nd October 2013 in Local
TWO children’s writers are coming to Bromsgrove as part of an effort by the literary society WORDS which operates in the town.
The society has been organising speakers in Bromsgrove for the past 35 years, and its launching LittleWORDS to introduce parents and children to some children’s authors.
The two authors will be appearing at the Artrix on Saturday, October 26, with Tracey Corderoy, author of the Hubble Bubble series appearing at 2pm to introduce her newest book Spella-a-Popping! Granny’s Shopping! She’ll also be showing visitors how to make their own cauldron and frogs.
At 3pm Ceci Jenkinson, author of the Tales of Trouble series, will be talking about the world of her main characters Oli and Skipjack and the wacky world they inhabit where dentists can be criminal masterminds, people can talk to ghosts, and your next door neighbour might be an alien.
The NSPCC will be at the venue selling fairy cakes, and there will also be drop-in craft activities in the Artrix foyer from 1-2pm for a £1 donation to the charity.
Tickets to see either author are £6 for adults and £4 per accompanied child. They’re available from artrix.co.uk or by calling 01527 577330.
Tracey Corderoy is suitable for children from three to six years old, and Ceci Jenkinson is suitable for children from six to 11 years old.
