Coldplay tribute act to play at town's fireworks spectacular
7:40am Monday 28th October 2013 in Local
TICKETS are on sale for Bromsgrove’s annual giant bonfire and fireworks spectacular in Sanders Park, and this year there’ll be an extra treat for townsfolk in the form of Coldplay tribute act Viva La Coldplay.
The event has been organised by Worcestershire cancer support charity Primrose Hospice and Bromsgrove District Council, and promises a fun packed evening, with food stalls, rides and more music from local duo Lady and the Sax as well as the traditional bonfire and fireworks display.
Civic head of Bromsgrove District Council, Councillor Helen Jones, said: "The stage is set for another blockbusting bonfire event, which has drawn sell out crowds to Sanders Park every year for some time now. And with proceeds going to Primrose Hospice, the success of the spectacular benefits a great local cause - as well as being a lot of fun."
The event is taking place from 5pm on Saturday, November 2 at Sanders Park, with family tickets for two adults and two children at £14, or £5 for adults and £3 for children. Tickets can be purchased from the Primrose Hospice shops in Bromsgrove and Rubery, or from special cash-only stalls in Sanders Park from Sunday, October 27 until Friday, November 1 from 10am - 4pm, weather permitting, or on Bromsgrove High Street on Friday November 1 and Saturday, November 2 from 11–3pm.
Primrose Hospice fundraising manager Lyn Winters, added: "We have worked closely with the district council on many occasions on all sorts of projects, and it is always a pleasure working with them. We would like to thank them for the support over the years and wish them every success for the forthcoming bonfire."
Kidderminster Road will be closed to vehicles from 5pm on the night to ensure the safety of pedestrians attending the event, and parking will be available in several town car parks a short walk away.
