4:50pm Wednesday 30th October 2013 in Local
RUBERY police are investigating an incident at the Lickey Hills Country Park in which a dog was killed by a greyhound off its lead.
Hagley and Rubery Police tweeted about the incident that happened near the footpath from Barnt Green Road to the Lickey Hills Visitor Centre in Warren Lane at around noon on Wednesday afternoon, October 23.
The tweet said: “Incident on the Lickey Hills involving two women who were walking two dobermans, two boxers and a greyhound that killed another dog.
“The two women are described as being in their 40s. Incident occurred near the visitor centre during the afternoon.”
A West Mercia Police spokesman said the greyhound had chased the whippet cross lurcher, with its muzzle coming off.
The women tried to help after the whippet cross lurcher received the fatal injuries, but they did not leave their details and officers are now trying to trace then.
The spokesman added police had already received some lines of enquiry that were being followed up.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Burling at Rubery Police Station on non emergency number 101.
