A MAN who attacked a customer at a Bournheath pub and had to be restrained has been jailed for three years.
Karl Warwood, 35, of Rednal Mill Drive, Birmingham, pleaded guilty at Worcester Crown Court to wounding Colin Jones, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Prosecutor Paul Whitfield said Mr Jones had gone for a drink at the Nailers Arms in the village on September 27, when Warwood struck him on the back of the head with a beer glass, which shattered.
Other customers restrained Warwood until police arrived.
Following the attack, Mr Jones had five stitches put in a deep wound. As a result, he had lost confidence in going out to the pub.
Makhan Singh, mitigating, said Warwood had taken to drink because of debts. He had gone into his shell and started drinking, which had caused him to give up his job as a HGV lorry driver.
He was normally a caring person and had been seeking help for his alcohol problem.
