A TALENTED Barnt Green-based hairdresser has received a prestigious award.

Michelle Griffin received a fellows with honours award at the annual Fellowship of British hairdressers luncheon, held at the Dorchester Hotel in London on December 2.

The organisation is dedicated to promoting the best of British and international hairdressing, supporting life-long training and education for its members.

The salon, Michelle Griffin of Barnt Green, was launched by Michelle in June 2006.

Hailed as the queen of hair extensions, Michelle is passionate about the hairdressing industry and an active member of the fellowship - running the colour project each year.

During the years she has worked in the industry she has also continued to gain experience, and earned global recognition.

Her work has previously been featured on LIVINGtv's Extreme Makeover UK, and used by some of the most famous WAG's.

At the ceremony Fellowship president Errol Douglas, MBE, presented her with the award.

Mrs Griffin said: "I am proud and elated to receive an award of a fellow with honours, and wish to thank all that voted for me.

"The Fellowship is a great platform for hairdressers and I am thankful for my recognition in this fantastic industry.”
