A MAN has died after a collision on the Bromsgrove Highway this morning, (Saturday, December 14).

The incident happened on the A448 at around 6am.

An ambulance, a paramedic area support officer and a rapid response vehicle, carrying a critical care paramedic and a trauma doctor, were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews were called to reports of a car and a pedestrian that had been in collision.

“Sadly on arrival it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the pedestrian, and he was confirmed deceased at the scene."

A West Mercia Police spokesman said his next of kin had been informed.

A police investigation was launched, which led to the closure of part of the highway. The highway has now reopened.

The spokesman said: "We are continuing our investigation into this incident and clearly our thoughts are with the family of the deceased and all those involved.

"It is too early to say how this occurred and we would appeal for anyone who may have witnessed this to contact the police."
