A BROMSGROVE plumber who led police on a 130mph motorway chase along the M5 has been warned he faces a jail sentence.
Robert Russell, 26, of Wintour Walk, performed wheelies at high speed as he travelled along the northbound carriageway from Worcester, before getting off at Junction 4 at Lydiate Ash.
Russell pleaded guilty to dangerous driving of his Yamaha motorcycle in the incident, which took place on August 6.
Judge Robert Juckes QC granted him unconditional bail, to be sentenced on January 15, but warned him a custodial sentence would still be considered.
"This was plainly a serious act of dangerous driving," the judge said.
He also imposed an interim driving disqualification, claiming it would not be fair to postpone the disqualification in the circumstances even if it should jeopardise Russell's job as a plumber.
